NEWS:
NEW YEAR'S LEVEE
Our Loyalist branch has received the customary invitation from the Lieutenant Governor to attend as a body her New Year's Day Levee at the Legislature. I hope many of you will be able to come and will wear Loyalist garb if you have it. Our gathering space will be in Room 254 at the south end of the Legislature. We will be presented to her honour at 2:10 pm prior to the public levee at 2:30. I would ask that we be ready to pose for pictures at 1:50. I expect that at 2:00 attendants will be lining us up to sign the guest book and be ready for the presentation.

Those Loyalists who have adhered to the Unity of the Empire, and joined the Royal Standard before the Treaty of Separation in the year 1783, and all their Children and their Descendants by either sex, are to be distinguished by the following capitals: UE. Alluding to their great principle The Unity of the Empire.

Proclaimed by Lord Dorchester in 1789 for loyalty to the crown, the UE is Canada's only hereditary title and descends through both male and female lines. The United Empire Loyalists' Association of Canada was formed in 1914 by Loyalist descendants and the Manitoba Branch was chartered in 1933.
