On Saturday, May 19, many of us donned our finery and fascinators and met at the University of Winnipeg Club on the 4th floor of the old "castle" on Portage Avenue. Thank goodness for elevators or there might have been a few less participants.

The object was to celebrate the wedding of Harry and Meghan and it was a wonderful event. We were joined by members of the Monarchist League of Canada and the Royal Commonwealth Society.

Jazz singer and pianist Helen White entertained. She is booked to perform at the gala when we host the Dominion Conference in 2020.

We owe a big thanks to Wendy Hart for all the work she did to organize this event. Her many contacts allowed us to access a great venue, have wonderful entertainment, delicious food and a flute of champagne and watch the Royal Wedding on 2 big screen televisions at a civilized hour all for the small sum of $20.00. There was even a reporter there from the Winnipeg Free Press and we received coverage in the Sunday edition:
