UNITED EMPIRE LOYALISTS
OF MANITOBA
New teachers' resource for
the United Empire Loyalists
The United Empire Loyalists' Association of Canada has recently published a Teachers' Loyalist Resource for Western Canada. It contains pages of newly researched material. For the very first time, the achievements of the Loyalists and their descendants who migrated West are connected to the basic information about the Loyalist settlements in Eastern Canada. It includes 'stories' of various individuals and families who have made contributions to the exploration and settlement of the west, as well as to the growth of Canada.
The following are just a few of the more prominent people with Loyalist roots:
-
Simon Fraser
-
Alexander Mackenzie
-
J.S. Woodsworth
-
Duff Roblin
These booklets are available from the Manitoba Branch of the UELAC.
